Instructions for pressing Sublimation onto fabrics and hard goods
1. Position Your Design
Line up your transfer in the desired location on your item. You may use heat-resistant tape if desired to hold the design inplace while pressing.
2. First Press
Press your transfer with medium pressure at 310 degrees Farenheit or 155 degrees Celsius for 15 seconds. You will not damage the transfer by pressing with more heat, pressure or time that is within reason. However, too much heat may damage your garment, so test first and use parchment paper or a protective guard sheet to protect it.
3. Let it Cool. Then Peel
After pressing let your transfer rest until it is cool to the touch (minimum of 15-30 seconds). Once cool, lift the transfer from one corner and gently peel back. Make sure that none of the design is sticking to the film. If so stop and lay it back down, you will need to repress.
4. Final Press
Place parchment paper over the design and press again for 15 seconds to soften the design, increase durability, and remove shine. If you want a shiny finish, cover with a protective guard sheet for the final press rather than parchment paper.
